There are a number of ways households can save electricity and in turn save some precious dollars. Every little bit helps when it comes to saving electricity and you'll notice the results when your next electricity bill arrives. Of course, there are the easy things you can do such as turning off lights when they're not in use and turning your computer off the wall, but there are few electricity-saving tips that aren't so readily considered. This includes unplugging all appliances when they are not needed. |

Do you have an old Nokia 3315, Nokia 3310 or Nokia 3200 sitting in a spare drawer hoping that they'll become antiques one day and worth a lot of money? Maybe you're onto something, but if you want to make your old mobile phones useful, why don't you recycle them instead of putting them in the bin? If you dispose of them in the rubbish, dangerous metals and toxic zinc are released back into the environment. There are few ways you can recycle your phone. Firstly, pass it on to someone who needs a new phone. Or, you can recycle your phone with Mobile Muster – the official recycling program for the phone industry (various Post Offices and mobile dealerships have drop-off boxes in store). Make sure you spread the word about recycling your old mobile phone. If you know your friends, family or workmates have a bunch of old phones lying around, organise to collect them and take them to a recycling program. If your work has an intranet or message board, why not post a notice there? This way you're doing your bit to save the environment and extend the life of a decent mobile phone.
